Man On 4th Street With My Canon 50-250mm Lens

I spent one more day forcing myself to carry around my Canon 55-250mm lens on my Rebel SL3. I saw this guy standing by a pole. At first he was looking down, but a few moments later he looked up and I got a good profile. I’m going to switch back to my 50mm lens for a few days because I’m starting to really notice the limitations of a lens that isn’t a prime lens.

2nd and Market with my 55-250mm Lens

I swapped out my 50mm lens with my 55-250mm lens for my walks to work and home. I’m still not very good with this lens yet, but I’ve got to work with it to get there. I suppose I can always come back out with my 50mm lens after I get home if I want. I did manage to get a few decent shots of this guy coming down 2nd street.

Chicago Street Photography and the Navy Pier

Over the weekend, I went to Chicago for some street photography. I missed Derby in Louisville completely. Chicago was nice, though. I’ll have to go back to get some more street photography there soon. The Navy Pier also opened back up for the first time this weekend since it shutdown last year at the beginning of the pandemic. Overall, I had a nice trip. Unfortunately, my roommate didn’t because he drove. The parking is still rough, but that’s Downtown Chicago.

That being said, I love the night life in Chicago. There’s almost always someone interesting to photograph and the city has enough tall buildings for interesting lighting and cool urban shots.

Chicago Streets

I started simple in the streets Friday night and the next morning.

Black And White Street Photography In Louisville

I’m going to start posting some of my photography, because I’ve been really enjoying it this week. I haven’t been writing as much; I’ve been doing photography instead. I probably won’t explain the photography very much; I know myself and if I have to write thesis about each photograph I’ll second-guess it as an photograph and won’t post anything. These were all taken with a 50mm lens on a Canon Rebel SL3. I just wanted to get some photos that made me feel like I was in Louisville.

Yes My Arms Are Still Sore! And the news this week has been not cool.

It’s still raining. I won’t be going to the gym today either. My arms STILL sore anyways.

Also, the grand jurors stated that they asked about other charges in the Breonna Taylor case.

The coronavirus infections continue to rise in Kentucky. 1,884 new cases yesterday. A new record. Still no new “mandates” because people in this state are so very uneducated and won’t understand.

And, all the guys on Grindr still just want to hookup. Like, they don’t even try to pretend for 5 minutes they want something else. I miss that about dating.

Honestly, my friend in prison who I wrote a while back still writes me weekly and that’s been the highlight of my life lately. Well, that and my fiction collection. I’m just making sure I don’t see any other typos or goofs before I push the buttons.

I’m not depressed, just tired. Is it the weekend, yet?
