Playing With Shadows On Main Street with my 55-250mm Lens

I went out on my lunch break yesterday and looked for some ways to use shadows. Some people like to use buildings and do more urban photography styled street photography, but I’m still all about needing to see a face. I need to use shadows and light better in my photos. In addition to my shadow hunting, I hope I’m not overdoing the black and white. Black and white is less distracting to edit because when I edit color I second-guess my decisions too much and end up not getting anything accomplished, or with too many versions of the same photo on my Flickr.

My battery died when I got back to the office so I couldn’t use my camera on the way home. This lens is great for when I can’t get close enough, but I’m starting to see the appeal of the wider lens, also. I did order a wider lens. It will arrive next week, hopefully.

Let me know what you think in the comments, or how your week has been. I’m glad it’s Friday!

You’re not overdoing it with the black and white, and these look good! Anyway, I’ve had a good week, and I hope you have too 😊
