I identify as a writer. Mostly, a writer of fiction. Short fiction. Mostly. When I’m not writing fiction, I spend my time reading for literary journals. When I’m not doing that, I spend my time editing manuscripts and other writer-like projects for people. I also sometimes write for other blogs and websites. Sometimes small businesses need words, too.
If you’re interested, Contact me using my contact form with the details of the writer-like project, creative gig, or word-related thingy-ma-bob that you’d like me to consider. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible regarding my rates.
I try to keep my available business hours at 9am-5pm EST, Monday-Friday. I try to respond to all inquires as quickly as possible, but the typical turn around time on responses is a business day.
If you’re in the Louisville, KY area, we can also hammer out the details over coffee. I prefer my coffee with a very small amount of sugar and a generous amount of cream. I’m not telling you this because I expect you to buy me coffee, it’s just something that people seem to want to know, for some reason.
You should read my blog to get a good idea of my style and voice. I’m not the best at describing my own style, but if I had to give a brief description, I’m a minimalist who’s not afraid of commas. Commas can smell fear and that’s how they get you.
I describe my fiction as literary fiction. I don’t believe in a difference between genre fiction and literary fiction as far as their potential to remain canon, I only use the terms as a book store would in a description or on a shelf. I write about lots of different topics. Stories about how the dog drowned in the tears of the eagle, or the grandpa stole the family car and broke down by the campgrounds his dad used to take him to are my thing. LGBT themes also come up a lot.
My nonfiction is just there.
I currently do my work in Louisville, KY out of my home, with aspirations of obtaining an office space somewhere in the future.
